                                            Recruitment

Each fall, formal recruitment provides interested women (called “potential new members”) with the opportunity to meet women from all of Drake’s five sororities.  The recruitment process at Drake is based on mutual selection between each sorority and potential new member. A strong force on Drake’s campus, all five sororities value scholarship, service, leadership, and sisterhood. To find out more about formal recruitment, please contact the Panhellenic Council. 

                             2010 Recruitment

 This fall, formal recruitment will take place from September 8-11, 2010.

Philanthropy Night
On either Wednesday or Thursday evening during recruitment, potential new members (PNMs) meet members of each sorority to learn about the philanthropic organizations each sorority supports. Philanthropy Night is PNMs’ chance to learn the basics about each chapter.

Panhellenic Night
Panhellenic Night, held the second night of recruitment, allows PNMs to meet more members of Drake’s sorority community. At Delta Gamma, PNMs will be treated to a personal tour of our chapter house and will have the chance to ask questions and learn more about life in DG.

Preference Day
“Pref” Day, the last day of recruitment, provides PNMs with the opportunity to get to know sorority members on a deeper level through longer conversations. They also take part in a special preference ceremony unique to each sorority.

Bid Day
Held on September 12, Bid Day is the culmination of Drake’s formal recruitment process. After signing formal bids, new members join their new sisters on “Greek Street” to celebrate and participate in fun sisterhood activities!
