1. Pharmacology:
Thienobenzodiazepine Class

The dynamic element of ZYPREXA IM® is olanzapine, likewise the engaged part in Zyprexa®, and Zyprexa Zydis®. The mechanism of activity in the medicine of intense tumult is not known around then. Hostile to-combative lands are most drastically identified with extraordinary serotonergic and dopaminergic profiles and would in addition include histaminergic impacts intensely. Olanzapine has an elevated liking tying to serotonin 5HT2A/2C.
2. Pharmacokinetics:
Well absorbed: Peak conc. 6 hours
High first pass effect: 40% metabolized before reaching the systemic circulation
PB: 93%
Vd: 1000 L
T1/2: 21-54 hours displaying linear kinetics
Major Metabolic Pathway: CYP1A2 and 2D6; Minor: CYP 2D6
In spite of the fact that the metabolism and end of ZYPREXA IM have not been efficiently assessed, the intramuscular track of organization could not be looked for to change the metabolic pathways. The producer states that the metabolic profiles of IM and oral definitions are qualitatively comparable; notwithstanding, there is no information good to go particular to the IM detailing. The essential metabolic pathways for oral olanzapine incorporate control glucuronidation and CYP450-interceded oxidation.
